Dr. Anuradha Paudwal (born 27 October 1954) is a prominent playback singer of Hindi cinema. She became very popular in the 1990s.
He made his film debut with the film Abhimaan, in which he sang a verse for Jaya Bhaduri. This verse was sung under the direction of composer Sachin Dev Varman. She then sang with Mukesh and Mahendra Kapoor in the film 'Bhagwan Ade Sansar Mein' in 1974 under the musical direction of her husband musician Arun Paudwal.
Anuradha Paudwal was born on 27 October 1954 in a Konkani family in Karwar in Uttara Kannada district, Karnataka. But he was raised in Mumbai. She was married to Arun Paudwal who was an assistant to the famous musician SD Burman. Arun himself was a musician. In the nineties, Anuradha Paudwal was at the peak of her career, at the same time her husband Arun died in an accident. They have a son Aditya Paudwal and a daughter Kavita Paudwal.
Anuradha started her career with Amitabh and Jaya's film 'Abhimaan' in 1973, in which she went to a verse song. At one time, almost every film had Anuradha's song. But now they have been away from singing for a long time. The last time he sang was in the 2006 film Jaane Hoga Kya. Anuradha never took training in classical music, saying that she tried many times but it did not work. He made his notes as he listened to Lataji and practiced for hours. Lata Mangeshkar is no less than a god for Anuradha Paudwal, as she attributes all her successes to Lata ji. He says that "I learned music under the guidance of many gurus. But, Lata ji's voice was an inspiration to me that guided me as an institution. " He also paired well with other musicians (Rajesh Roshan, J Deo, Kalyanji Anandji).
Anuradha gained popularity after the success of the film 'Hero' and she was counted among the top singers. In this film, he teamed up with Laxmikant-Pyarelal. After the success of Hero, the pair gave successful songs in many more films such as 'Meri Jung', 'Batwara', 'Ram Lakhan' and 'Tezaab' in the last. He then joined hands with Gulshan Kumar of T-series and got many new faces enrolled in Bollywood. Some of them are Udit Narayan, Sonu Nigam, Kumar Sanu, Abhijeet, Anu Malik and Nadeem Shravan.
At the peak of his success, he announced to only work with the T-series, which benefited Alka Yagnik. Anuradha Paudwal moved away from films to focus on devotional songs and sang many successful hymns in the region. After working for some time, she took a break and returned to playback singing after 5 years, although her return was not very successful for her.
