The sultan
(Translation. Raja) is a 2016 Indian Hindi-language sports drama film [3] [4] [5] directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. Produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner, the film stars Salman Khan alongside Anushka Sharma.
The film focuses on Sultan Ali Khan, a fictional wrestler and former Haryana World Wrestling Champion, whose successful career has created a rift in his personal life.

KAHANI: -
Sultan Ali Khan
(Salman Khan) is a middle-aged Jat Pahlavani wrestler and ex-wrestling
champion, living a solitary life in a small town in Haryana. Akash Oberoi (Amit
Sadh), the founder of a private mixed martial arts league supported by Mr.
Patel (Ivan Sylvester Rodrigues), is encouraged by his father to recruit the
Sultan to reduce the league's popularity.
After a visit to
Haryana, he makes an offer to the Sultan, who expressly refuses and says that
he has retired from wrestling altogether.
In search of the
reason behind his retirement, Akash encounters Govind, a close friend of the
Sultan, who describes how the Sultan's career began. During 2008, Sultan falls
in love with Arfa Hussain (Anushka Sharma), the daughter of a state-level
wrestler and local wrestling coach.
Although he was
initially cold towards her, he accepts the Sultan as a friend. When he starts
claiming that they are committed, she insults him by saying that she will marry
a well-trained wrestler.
Determined to win
his honor, the Sultan dedicates himself to intensive training and eventually
wins the state-level wrestling tournament, as well as Arfa. The two get married
and become recognized wrestlers, who represent India in various international
tournaments.
When the two are
selected to the Olympic contingent, Arfa realizes that she is pregnant. She
leaves her childhood dream of winning an Olympic gold medal for India, which
was then fulfilled by the Sultan. To his surprise, Sultan's achievement makes
him arrogant, and he slaps a reporter in an incident.
He left Arfa close
to the due date to win gold in Turkey. Upon returning, he finds that his
newborn son died of severe anemia. The child had a rare O-blood type similar to
the sultan, whose absence deprived the child of a donor.
Enraged, Arfa decides to leave the Sultan and
live with his father. Disappointed at losing his wife and child, the Sultan
started raising funds to open a blood bank in his son's name. At the present
time, Akash promises the Sultan that the tournament's prize money will fulfill
his dream of opening a blood bank.
Sultan agrees to participate, and travels to
Delhi for training, where Akash introduces him to MMA coach Fateh Singh who
initially refuses him, but agrees, seeing his determination. .
After two months of training, the Sultan
regains his physique and learns how to do a freestyle. In his first fight, the
Sultan defeated an opponent using his own iconic wrestling style.
He soon becomes a nationwide sensation once
again, winning many matches and gaining the support of Arfa in the process.
During the semi-final round, the Sultan wins the fight but is seriously injured
and has to be hospitalized. The doctor informs Akash that the Sultan should not
fight again, lest his injuries become fatal. Arfa arrives at the ward and prompts
him to continue the fight. During the final match, Sultan overcomes his pain to
defeat his opponent and eventually wins the tournament.
Again with his wife, Sultan opens a blood bank
using the prize money and Arfa starts wrestling. A few years later, she gives
birth to a baby girl, whom Sultan begins to train as a wrestler.
