Rohit (Hrithik Roshan) and his younger brother Amit live in a rented house with their dear aunt and uncle Lily (Farida Jalal) and Anthony (Satish Shah), who own the house.

Rohit is an aspiring singer who works as a salesman in a car showroom run by Malik (Dalip Tahil).

One day, he meets Sonia Saxena (Amisha Patel), the beautiful daughter of Mr. Saxena (Anupam Kher). Unknown to everyone, including Sonia, her father and Malik, is running a drug cartel with the help of two corrupt police officers (Mohnish Bahl and Ashish Vidyarthi)

During Sonia's birthday party on the beach, Rohit and Sonia see each other again.

After Rohit sings, he is invited to perform on a cruise. During the ceremony, Rohit and Sonia get drunk and fall into a lifeboat which breaks away from the ship. Rohit reaches an island, where he is stranded for a few days. During this time, they fall in love.

He is rescued by Saxena, who does not approve of his love due to his class differences. Rohit assures Saxena that his motives are honorable and Saxena agrees that if Rohit can succeed, he will allow her to marry Sonia.

Determined to prove himself, Rohit and his friends try to secure a record deal for him. Rohit eventually becomes a locally famous artist and prepares to appear in a concert.

On the day of the show, Rohit shot and killed corrupt policemen and Malik, killing the commissioner, who had found out about his drug deal. They discover his presence and shoot him, injuring him before chasing him across the bridge.

They derailed his bike, causing it to fall into the river. Rohit, who does not know how to swim, drowns. With the news, Amit goes to bed badly and becomes silent while a devastated Sonia goes into depression.

Mr. Saxena sends Sonia to her brother in New Zealand to help him overcome his depression. There, Sonia meets Raj Chopra (Hrithik Roshan), a friend of his cousin Nita (Tanaz Kurrim), who resembles Rohit with his heavy blow, though their personalities are slightly different.

Raj falls for Sonia but he evades her, his resemblance to Rohit is painful for her. Knowing her story, Raj takes her back to India, and gives her hope to make love, as she does not love him. However, at the airport, one of the corrupt officials attacked him and opened fire on Raj.

After Raj and Sonia escape, Raj realizes that someone is mistaking him for Rohit, and the two discover that Rohit was murdered.

Raj is welcomed by Rohit's family and friends.

Their presence brings Amit out of their shell, and Raj realizes that Amit witnessed Rohit's murder and sees the culprits. The gang set a trap to expose the killers, in which Raj seduced Rohit. When Sonia asks why he is doing all this, Raj confesses that he loves her.

Malik, Saxena and the officers are horrified to learn that "Rohit" is alive. Raj performs a concert in tribute to Rohit, knowing that his killers will arrive.

He reveals the crowd's details of the shooting he learned from Amit. Before he could reveal the names of the people who killed Rohit, one of the officers shot him. Raj survives due to wearing a bullet proof jacket.

To capture Rohit, the authorities kidnap Sonia. After Rohit's killer is found, Sonia shouts at him to kill him, who rules. Malik arrives and is about to reveal Saxena's involvement in the murder, but Saxena shoots him. Amit identifies Malik as one of Rohit's killers.

With his help, Raj learns that Saxena was the man Malik called before Rohit was killed. When confronted, Saxena confesses his crime to Sonia before being arrested.

Sonia tells Raj that she loves him and does not want to lose her love for the second time. The couple return to New Zealand, take Amit with them, and marry, surrounded by family and friends.

कहो न प्यार है की पूरी कहानी

रोहित ( ऋतिक रोशन ) और उसका छोटा भाई अमित अपनी लाडली चाची और चाचा लिली ( फरीदा जलाल ) और एंथनी ( सतीश शाह ) के साथ किराए के मकान में रहते हैं, जो उस घर के मालिक हैं। रोहित एक महत्वाकांक्षी गायक है जो मलिक ( दलीप ताहिल ) द्वारा संचालित एक कार शोरूम में एक सेल्समैन के रूप में काम करता है ।

एक दिन, उनकी मुलाकात सोनिया सक्सेना ( अमीषा पटेल ), श्री सक्सेना ( अनुपम खेर ) की खूबसूरत बेटी से होती है । सोनिया, उसके पिता और मलिक सहित सभी के लिए अज्ञात, दो भ्रष्ट पुलिस अधिकारियों ( मोहनीश बहल और आशीष विद्यार्थी ) की मदद से ड्रग कार्टेल चला रहा है

।

बीच पर सोनिया की बर्थडे पार्टी के दौरान रोहित और सोनिया एक-दूसरे को फिर से देखते हैं। रोहित के गाए जाने के बाद, उन्हें क्रूज पर प्रदर्शन के लिए आमंत्रित किया जाता है। समारोह के दौरान, रोहित और सोनिया नशे में हो जाते हैं और एक जीवनरक्षक नौका में गिर जाते हैं जो जहाज से अलग हो जाता है।

रोहित एक द्वीप पर पंहुचा, जहाँ वे कुछ दिनों के लिए फंसे हुए हैं। इसी दौरान उन्हें प्यार हो जाता है। उन्हें सक्सेना द्वारा बचाया जाता है, जो अपने वर्ग के मतभेदों के कारण अपने प्यार को स्वीकार नहीं करते हैं। रोहित सक्सेना को आश्वस्त करता है कि उसके इरादे सम्मानजनक हैं

और सक्सेना इस बात से सहमत है कि अगर रोहित सफल हो सकता है, तो वह उसे सोनिया से शादी करने की अनुमति देगा।

खुद को साबित करने के लिए दृढ़ संकल्प, रोहित और उसके दोस्तों ने उसके लिए एक रिकॉर्ड सौदा हासिल करने का प्रयास किया। रोहित अंततः एक स्थानीय रूप से प्रसिद्ध कलाकार बन जाता है और एक संगीत कार्यक्रम में आने की तैयारी करता है।

शो के दिन, रोहित ने भ्रष्ट पुलिसकर्मियों और मलिक की गोली मारकर हत्या कर दी और कमिश्नर की हत्या कर दी, जो उनके ड्रग सौदे के बारे में पता लगा चुके थे। वे उसकी उपस्थिति का पता लगाते हैं

और पुल पर उसका पीछा करने से पहले उसे घायल करते हुए उसे गोली मार देते हैं। उन्होंने उसकी बाइक को पटरी से गिरा दिया, जिससे वह नदी में गिर गया। रोहित, जो तैरना नहीं जानता, डूब जाता है।

खबर से अमित बुरी तरह तिलमिला जाता है और मूक हो जाता है जबकि एक तबाह सोनिया अवसाद में चली जाती है।

श्री सक्सेना अपने अवसाद को दूर करने में मदद करने के लिए सोनिया को अपने भाई के पास न्यूजीलैंड भेजती है।

वहाँ, सोनिया अपने चचेरे भाई नीता ( तनाज़ कुर्रिम ) के दोस्त, राज चोपड़ा ( ऋतिक रोशन ) से मिलती है, जो अपने भारी झटके से रोहित से मिलता-जुलता है, हालाँकि उनकी शख्सियतें थोड़ी अलग हैं। राज सोनिया के लिए गिर जाता है लेकिन वह उससे बचता है, रोहित के लिए उसकी समानता उसके लिए दर्दनाक है। उसकी कहानी जानने के बाद, राज उसे वापस भारत ले जाता है,

और उसे प्यार करने की आशा देता है, क्योंकि वह उसे प्यार नहीं करती है। हालांकि, हवाई अड्डे पर, भ्रष्ट अधिकारियों में से एक ने उन पर हमला किया और राज पर आग लगा दी। राज और सोनिया के भागने के बाद, राज को पता चलता है कि रोहित के लिए कोई उसे गलत समझ रहा है, और दोनों को पता चलता है कि रोहित की हत्या कर दी गई थी।

मलिक, सक्सेना और अधिकारी यह जानकर घबरा गए कि "रोहित" जीवित है। राज रोहित को श्रद्धांजलि में एक संगीत कार्यक्रम करता है, यह जानकर कि उसके हत्यारे आएंगे। वह उस शूटिंग के भीड़ के विवरणों का खुलासा करता है

जो उसने अमित से सीखा था। इससे पहले कि वह रोहित की हत्या करने वाले लोगों के नाम का खुलासा कर पाता, उनमें से एक अधिकारी ने उसे गोली मार दी। बुलेट प्रूफ जैकेट पहनने के कारण राज बच जाता है।

रोहित को पकड़ने के लिए, अधिकारियों ने सोनिया का अपहरण कर लिया। रोहित के हत्यारे पाए जाने के बाद, सोनिया उन्हें मारने के लिए चिल्लाती है,

जो राज करता है। मलिक आता है और हत्या में सक्सेना की भागीदारी का खुलासा करने वाला है, लेकिन सक्सेना ने उसे गोली मार दी। अमित मलिक को रोहित के हत्यारों में से एक के रूप में पहचानता है।

उसकी मदद से राज को पता चलता है कि रोहित की हत्या करने से पहले सक्सेना ही वह आदमी था जिसे मलिक ने बुलाया था। सामना होने पर, सक्सेना गिरफ़्तार होने से पहले सोनिया के सामने अपना अपराध कबूल करता है।

सोनिया राज से कहती है कि वह उससे प्यार करती है और दूसरी बार प्यार नहीं खोना चाहती। दंपति न्यूजीलैंड लौटते हैं, अमित को अपने साथ ले जाते हैं, और शादी करते हैं, परिवार और दोस्तों से घिरे होते हैं।
